The Magnificent Fifty US State Capitol Buildings
Called The Magnificent Fifty, the collection infuses a profound sense of public pride and a shared sense of accomplishment in its viewers. Acclaimed artist Susan Cassidy Wilhoit has captured the unique legacy of each state in her renditions of these awesome public structures. Although many are similar in design, the paintings reveal, far more effectively than photographs, the diverse ideals, valuesand aspirations of their citizens.
Together, the watercolors symbolize the power accorded the states by our Constitution as well as the inherent responsibility to public service. The Magnificent Fifty provide viewers a unique opportunity to compare and contrast the visions of individual states, while emphasizing the shared goals that make the nation strong.
The National Capitol Heritage Foundation, Inc.is a not-for-profit organization funded by public & private gifts and donations, which owns beautiful, original watercolor paintings of the capitol buildings of the fifty states. The foundation arranges for exhibits these icons of American heritage throughout the United States to educate citizens and bring about awareness of their individual and aggregate beauty. The collection is available for exhibit in your community.
